LDF strongly supports the passage of the Voting Rights Advancement Act.
In order to realize our nation’s founding promise of equality under the law, we must have a fully-empowered Department of Justice, statutorily charged with preventing states and localities from discriminating against people of color in their exercise of the franchise. The VRAA would accomplish this by restoring the vital preclearance protections at the heart of the Voting Rights Act.
