For more than a decade, LDF’s Prepared to Vote (PTV) project has prepared voters for elections by engaging volunteers on Election Day. PTV equips voters with information needed to protect voting rights and support Black political participation.
We have added to our PTV work with our new Voting Rights Defender (VRD) project to fight voter suppression year-round. VRD engages volunteers to monitor what is going on locally and our response teams engage with local partners to advocate for change, inform the public of measures that suppress the vote, and refer to our litigators the matters that need to be challenged in court. PTV and VRD are part of LDF’s Strategic Initiatives Department.
